Thanks, Alex! You can look forward to weekly posts here.
I agree with your words about the season..."starkly beautiful" is a great description of autumn. As for winter, who knows? By the time you reach my ripe old age, you might find yourself pining for the icy paths of Vassar.
And as for your blog...fantastic! Hope you don't mind me sharing with everyone the fact that your critiques can be found at http://dancesihaveseen.wordpress.com/ but I find your observations very enjoyable. Nothing "little" about your blog at all - it's rich with thoughtful insights and descriptive language. Keep in mind that I have always been somewhat under-appreciative of dance, mainly because I am usually ignorant about the subtleties of what I'm seeing. You are now my offical Dance Mentor. Next time we get a chance, let's pop in a DVD of something that impresses you, and you can provide live commentary (hope you're not too expensive).

Wow, Bob that was awesome! I have subscribed to your blog and can't wait to read more. Seriously. I don't even know where to begin to respond... being in college... Winter is the hardest 6 months for myself. I love the fall mainly because of going to the Outdoor Academy when I was a sophomore in high school. I love the smell, and the general erie feeling that propelled a lot of my imagination as a kid. It's always a little exciting and starkly beautiful. But winter... here in poughkeepsie it snows in November and onward, which isn't too big of a deal. The problem is that it doesn't melt, and on until April the ice still hides in frozen puddles behind buidlings that sunlight rarely reaches. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to appreciate it. But... who knows. I also have a (very) little blog that I'm writing about dances I have seen in the city and else where, sort of so I can respond to them instead of just watching them. Not sure if other people will ever find it useful but that's alright with me. I'll leave it as my website if you want to have a looksy.

Also I love the design!

Robert,

You give such meaningful description in your story. I have to admit, I was moved by your emotional appeal to the reader. The feelings that you transfer to the reader through your use of vivid language is strong in this article. Thank you for sharing a bit of yourself with us.

Dear Bob,
Very well written. And that photo is one of my
favorite shots. the lake was Schoonover lake. Once
very popular with the Limaites or should I say Limazeans.
I have not been there for years. Keep up the good work.
You sure know how to compose and write very well!
                                  Love,Dad
